Introducing Mr. Burberry. Classic yet contemporary; sophisticated and sensual.
The new fragrance for men captures the essence of London and its moments, fusing classic scents of British perfumery with unexpected ingredients. The composition is announced as woody - herbal. Its ingredients are inspired by tradition of British perfumery. It opens with zesty accords of grapefruit, cardamom and tarragon. The heart notes include birch leaf, nutmeg oil and cedar, followed by the base of sandalwood, vetiver and guaiac wood.
Shot by Oscar winning British director Steve McQueen, the campaign is his first commercial film and marks the first time Burberry and the acclaimed director have worked together. Set in London, the film features British actor Josh Whitehouse and British model and actress Amber Anderson. .
The bottle is inspired by the iconic black Burberry trench coat, its quality, craftsmanship, style and timeless appeal, and honours its signature design details: bold and masculine, the weighted cap references horn-look buttons, while a hand-tied knot in English-woven gabardine sits around the neck, celebrating the innovative fabric invented by Thomas Burberry more than 100 years ago.
Talking about the scent, Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Burberry, said, "Mr. Burberry is our most significant men's fragrance to date. It is traditional yet irreverent; elegant without being pristine. It perfectly encapsulates the mood and an attitude that today's Burberry man will recognise as his own.
